Tell us a little bit about your business.

1:1 Wellness Coach helping woman wave good-bye to self-doubt and low self-esteem, find their confidence and self-worth so they can show up unapologetically and own their life.

What inspired you to set up your business?

Several years ago, I fell victim to adult bullying in my community which affected not only me, but my family too.

My mental health suffered immensely and over the years whilst working full time and struggling with physical, mental and emotional stress, I blacked out in my car which was the start of a burn out. After many doctors and specialist visits and hours spent in A&E, thankfully there was nothing terribly wrong with me, but I still felt so unwell. It was then that I took my life into my own hands and started on my own wellness journey.

My life was transforming, I was feeling fantastic and I wanted to share my knowledge of all things wellness to help others.

What gave you the final nudge/ push to go for it?

I was feeling all the positive effects that wellness was having on my own life and that of my family. My perspective on life was changing, I was feeling incredible physically and was looking after my mental health and seeing the benefits.

It was then that I decided to enrol in a coaching course so that I could help others overcome challenges in their lives. I have been very fortunate to be able to focus on growing my business and am very proud to be working with 8 clients currently who are making their own breakthroughs.

When asked about my business, I love being able to say that I have found my life purpose.

What has been your biggest challenge to date?

Managing my time during lockdown this year.

Setting up my own business from home, whilst juggling three children’s home schooling was eventful. I often found at the end of a home-schooling day, that I struggled to dedicate time for work. The challenge was to balance time with the children, work and maintain self-care but with a supportive husband we established a routine that benefited the whole family.

The kids are happily back at school now and I hope we can control the virus enough so that they can stay there!

Describe your greatest success/ the thing you are most proud of?

I’ve encountered a number of painful life events; but I have not let these define me; they have become the inspiration for my vision as a coach.

What motivates you to keep forging ahead with your business?

When I see my clients having light bulb moments during our coaching sessions, it physically gives me goose bumps. I love watching my clients transform, it fills me up!

Thank you so much to Joy for sharing her story with us here at Cat's Pajamas. We always feel inspired hearing about the journeys of others.
